Unboxing June & July Birchbox 2016
12:00Birchbox June (upper left) and Birchbox July (lower right) |
About a week or so ago, Birchbox posted a code on their Facebook page to get two boxes for the price of 1. As someone who likes the occasional beauty box, I thought this wasn't a deal to be missed! I've only just received them but thought I'd do a unboxing of both of them.
First of all the June edition is actually in a draw box instead of the normal packaging which is definitely something different, but I like it as I usually like to keep the boxes for storing other stuff in.
Down to the contents of the June box, unfortunately there isn't really a stand out product as they're all quite small sample products but this could be due to how late the order was made.
The contents include Percy & Reed Reassuring Firm Session Hold Hairspray 50ml, Benefit Air Patrol BB Cream Eyelid Primer 1.5ml, Huygens Le Gommage Visage Face Scrub 10ml, Amika Nourishing Hair Mask 20ml and Cynthia Rowley Brightening Illuminator 1g.
Though they are small sizes I'm looking forward to trying them out especially the scrub and illuminator as i'm enjoying experimenting with skincare products lately. I usually use the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer so it will be interesting to see how Benefit Air Patrol compares! I love a good hair mask to try too and you can't go wrong with some travel friendly hairspray.
Down to the July edition, this collaboration box with Millie Mackintosh has a lovely purple/pink design!
I actually am really impressed with the contents of this box compared to June's edition. It actually features five products with two of them being full size products!
It features John Freida 7 Day Volume In Shower Treatment 100ml, Amika Nourshing Hair Mask 20ml (a repeat from June's edition), LOC x Millie Ultra Gloss Lip Pencil in Bohemian Rose, Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum 10ml, Hydraluron Moisture Boosting Mask and Nails Inc Polish in Upper Road Park 4ml.
I'm most excited to try the face mask - which is worth £5 on its own! The lip pencil is a lovely pink rose colour which is perfect for summer. I've had a sample of a different Caudalie serum before which I really liked so i'm eager to try this radiance one out. I love the colour of the polish, i'm definitely going to wear it when I next change my polish. I've not tried the John Freida Volume products before so this will be something different for me especially as I already have thick hair. The only disappointing product from the box is the repeat hair mask which is the exact same as the June edition. However I have read good reviews of the mask so hopefully I'll be grateful to have two samples of it and the extra sample will be a great pick me up for trips away.
Overall I'm very impressed with the amount of products I received for just £12.95. Birchbox's August edition is actually a Birchbag instead of a box. I haven't decided whether to resubscribe yet as I have all these products to try out.
