Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Review

08:30

I received this Smashbox Photo Finish Primer in the Breast Cancer Awareness Beauty Box a few weeks ago. I couldn't wait to try it as I've never tried it before.

I was expecting great things from this primer due to the reviews it has. The primer is silicone based so I'd say it would most likely suit more oily to combination skin tones. I apply a pea sized amount to my face.

On application it feels very lightweight and it smooths out my skin ready for applying my foundation. It keeps my foundation in place most of the day. However I feel that it doesn't do anything more than cheaper primers do unfortunately. I was really hoping this primer would live up to the hype, I think I'll stick to my cheaper primers for now.

Have you used this primer before?

  1. It's a shame this primer wasn't quite what you expected and I know there has been a lot of hype around it. I have been tempted to give it a try but have always been put off as ike you say, it is quite expensive and I think there are others that are cheaper and would do just as good a job. x

  2. I agree that this primer suits combo to oily skin best, I tried it on my dry skin and it makes my foundation look super matte and flat, I hate it!

  5. I have it and its okay, but not my favorite. I like one from Dior, which hides my pores and can take my oily skin x

  6. I feel like it doesn't really make a difference with my foundation. And you are right, it is more suited for those with oily skin which is why I feel like it doesn't really do much for me.
