We Got Married!
09:00Its been over two weeks now since we got married after two years of planning! I thought I'd post a little update and tell you how our day went. Apologies for the lack of posts but I've been so busy lately.
The day started off with me getting ready at my parents house as I'd stayed there the night before. Although I didn't sleep well as I was most nervous about things going wrong in the morning before the wedding. Yet as my flowers, hairdresser, photographer and make up artist arrived my nerves settled. Despite their being lots of family members and people getting me ready I was fairly calm.
As my hair and make up was finished my lovely bridesmaids arrived. They helped to lace up the back of my strapless fishtail dress. Time was flying by and it was there turn to go in the wedding car to the church. It was just me and my dad left in the house. We'd been told the ceremony before ours had over run so I didn't have to worry about being late. The car picked us up at 12:25pm (the ceremony was originally meant to start at 12:30pm). We arrived the at the church at about 12:40pm. My maid of honour put my veil over my face before me and my dad walked down the aisle. The ceremony went so well and finished with us getting showered in confetti! We were able to relax with champagne in the wedding car before heading to our drinks reception. It was so nice to just take in the moment.
After we were greeted by our friends and family at the drinks reception we were able to see where we would being having our meal and our finished cake - it all looked amazing! The meal was amazing, I was so full and I didn't even finish it all. The speeches went really well. I ended up being on the dance floor for most of the evening, it was comfier than sitting down haha! Our first dance was 'Hold My Girl' by George Ezra. Quite a few of our guests joined us on the dance floor after the first dance. The sweet cart and diy photo booth were so popular too! The night ended at around 1am yet the whole day flew by. It was honestly the best day ever and was so much better than we could have ever imagined!
We go on honeymoon to the US a week today, so I won't be actively posting sorry, although I'm thinking about doing some travel posts when we get back.
