Wedding Planning: DIY Confetti
08:30When wedding planning, everything can be so costly so myself and my partner have been trying to do more 'DIY' projects related to the wedding. Our latest DIY project is making our own confetti using flowers that match our colour scheme.
The first step is to pick your favourite flowers! Try and choose flowers which compliment your colour scheme and ones that have lot's of petals! (I have found that Chrysanthemums and Germini work really well and pretty much every shop has them!)
Enjoy your flowers for around a week, then just as the petals are starting to wither, pull all the petals from the flower and place on a tray lined with a clean tea towel.
Place the petals on the tray in an airing cupboard or other dry place, so that any moisture in the petals is removed (this will take a couple of days!). Once your petals have dried out, you have confetti!
Store your confetti in a paper bag until your big day! Repeat the process until you have your desired amount of confetti. We are planning on crafting our own confetti holders, so keep an eye out for more on confetti in future posts!

Yeah much better for the environment! x
DeleteThis is SUCH a good idea! I love it! You can also microwave them to dry them faster, I've done it with herbs in the past.
